AMVC Management Services, LLC of Audubon, Iowa is seeking a veterinarian to oversee swine health and production in Indiana and Ohio. AMVC Management Services provides swine health and production management in eight states serving more than 90,000 sows. Our mission is to be an industry leader in livestock production by providing management, veterinary, nutritional, marketing and employee expertise that supports animal welfare, environmental stewardship, quality and traceability of meat products and the sustainability of livestock production. The individual in this position will help to oversee swine health and production for 17,000 sows and 500,000 nursery, finishing and/or wean to finish spaces in the states of Indiana and Ohio.
Responsibilities will include:
Monitor and evaluate swine production in all phases of production using production data and regular farm visits.
Perform routine diagnostics and satisfy routine regulatory functions such as Certificates of Veterinary Health Inspection.
Oversight and training of farm employees on welfare and health related aspects of swine production.
Communication and coordination with veterinarians and staff and AMVC Management Services.
Applicant must have or be able to attain a DVM degree from an accredited U.S. College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior experience within production systems and swine production knowledge is preferred, but not required for this position. Recent and new graduates are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have the ability to become licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the states of Iowa, Indiana and Ohio. The veterinarian will be based out of Delphi, Indiana.
