South O'Brien Students Learn About Pig Farming

posted on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Central Region News

Recently, AMVC visited students at South O'Brien High School to share the story of pig farming. Alicia Humphrey, our public relations coordinator, is a trained Operation Main Street presenter with the National Pork Board and spent a morning educating agricultural students in Mr. Eric Kumm's veterinary technology class. The presentation covered topics ranging from animal housing and care to health and nutrition. Throughout the class period the students interacted by asking and answering questions. AMVC enjoys being a resource for local students.

AMVC manages Primrose, LLC, a 2,500 head sow farm in Primghar that is less than ten miles from the high school. AMVC Management Services manages 115,000 sows across seven states.
