AMVC Management Services proudly joined the National Pork Producers Council's "Give-a-Ham" challenge, a national social media campaign encouraging hog farmers and those involved in the industry to donate pork to organizations serving their local communities.

11 AMVC employees accepted the challenge and donated pork products to seven community organizations across three states, Indiana, Iowa, and Wyoming. Organizations receiving donations included:

  • Frankfort Fire Department (IN)
  • Clinton County EMS (IN)
  • Henry Township Volunteer Fire Department (IN)
  • Mount Ayr Fire Department (IA)
  • Creston Fire Department (IA)
  • Creston Area Food Pantry (IA)
  • Wheatland Child & Family Development, Inc. (WY)

"We're proud to be a part of an industry that is committed to giving back to its communities," said Sophie Hansen, public relations specialist. "First responders, food pantries, and child & family centers are important pillars of every community, and we're happy to recognize their work with these donations."

Last year across the United States, pig farmers donated 15 million pounds of pork, or 220 million servings, to local organizations through the Give-A-Ham challenge. And while members of the pork industry kick off the challenge, everyone is welcome to participate. Individuals are encouraged to join this challenge to share their stories on social media using the #GiveaHam hashtag.
