In this role, Shores will be responsible for providing daily leadership and direction to her twenty employees, as well as, overseeing and monitoring the farm’s production performance.
Shores started her AMVC career in 2014 as a swine specialist at Newell Pig II near Brayton. A year later she was accepted into AMVC’s Leadership Development Program and gained work experience in different sow farms in Iowa. Before Shores graduated from the Leadership Development Program in November 2016, she was promoted to assistant farrowing manager at Hatteras, LLC in Audubon.
“Millette has demonstrated her work ethic, passion and leadership potential to be a successful manager. She is determined and I am excited to see her continue to develop in her role and reach her goal of running a successful farm,” said Dan Weber, AMVC Sow Production Manager.
Shores and her husband, Mike, have two children Claire and Jackson. She is active in the community by serving as the Mayor of Kimballton and a member of the local fire department.
AMVC Management Services manages Southwest Pork. AMVC oversees sow farms across seven different states and is headquartered in Audubon.
