Audubon, IA: Earlier this month AMVC hosted a blood drive for their employees in the management office’s south parking lot. AMVC partnered with LifeServe Blood Center to bring their bloodmobile to the office so employees and spouses would have the opportunity to donate.
The AMVC team rolled up their sleeves with 17 whole blood donations and four double red donations from 19 eligible donors. Of those eligible donors, 11 were first time donors. Through AMVC’s blood drive, up to 63 lives will be saved or sustained.
An unprecedented number of blood drives were cancelled this year due to COVID-19, resulting in huge need for blood. AMVC believes in doing the right thing every day and hosting a company blood drive felt like right thing to do considering the increasing demand for blood and plasma during the pandemic.
“As a first-time donor myself, I had a really positive experience,” says Lindsey Cose, human resources director. “With the donation center coming to the office, it made it really easy to donate and help those in need of blood.”
