Job Description:
AMVC Nutritional Services is seeking an innovative and motivated individual to provide the following:
- Lead ingredient procurement and sourcing efforts for owned and managed feed mills
- Provide pricing oversight and support of scheduling of ingredients
- Support feed desk personnel with troubleshooting and logistical questions
- Support the review of toll milling performance and partnerships
- Support feed ordering and delivery programs and solutions
- Support nutritionist with literature reviews, data mining, and background information to make feeding program decisions
- Support nutritionist with feed program design, slat level support, and boardroom to boardroom discussions
- Support relationships with existing AMVC Nutritional Services customers and aid in fostering growth opportunities with new customers
- Role will have full support and assistance from AMVC’s Swine Nutrition, Production, and Veterinary Teams
Who you are:
- Possess a B.S. or M.S. in Animal Science or Nutrition with a focus in swine
- Exhibit superb organizational, time management, and multi-tasking ability
- Have a high-level understanding of feed program design, feed mill and delivery logistics, and on-farm protocols and practices
- Understand to support on-farm and feed mill level production travel over-night travel will occur ~5 to 10% of the time and local day travel will occur ~10 to 20% of the time
- Additionally, there will be associated travel with participation in swine nutrition/production conferences and forums
- A preference to live within commuting distance of Audubon, IA to be based out of our Nutritional Services Office
- Daily work schedule and working in the office/remotely can be flexible depending on the individual scenario
